Regressei à ilha. “Era uma vez uma ilha onde se perdia o tempo.” (dizia Ana Hatherly). A mesma água, só que outra, o mesmo cisne, só que outro. Um dia provei esta água para saber se era realmente mar. Era. O sabor da quietude, do tempo repetido ou distendido. Não ficaram vestígios nas mãos.

I returned to the island. “Once upon a time there was an island where time was lost.” (said Ana Hatherly). The same water, only different; the same swan, only another. One day I tasted this water to find out whether it was truly sea. It was. The taste of stillness, of time repeated or stretched. No traces remained on the hands.
